Eyespider has recently been working with Golds Vehicle Rentals in Cannock to refurbish and improve their existing website. The brief was to restyle the whole site, presenting Golds Vehicle Rentals in a new refreshing and dynamic light. Golds were keen to ensure that the site was simple to navigate and that content could easily be found within a couple of mouse clicks. It was also important to ensure that the site remained search engine friendly and kept it's current search engine rankings.

The site changes incorporated a new logo and new page layouts, this included the prominent display of telephone number and address as well as key information on types of vehicles offered, areas served and opening times.

We built a photo slide show into the home page that cycled through the types of vehicles available to rent (including the full fleet of cars, vans and people carriers). This gives a clear and concise image of the vehicles on offer to anybody visiting the website.

The vehicle sections of the site included rates and special offers pages that can be edited and updated by the staff. Other pages detailed the other additional services offered by the company, including contract hire, flexi hire, valeting and servicing. We also produced a meet the team page allowing customers to put a face to the name of the golds vehicle rentals staff.

New website for the Penellen Hotel

The Penellen Hotel is Bed & Breakfast Guest Accommodation in St Ives Bay, Cornwall. Eyespider was asked to produce a new website to show the hotels facilities and to visually display the amazing sea views that can be experienced by staying at the hotel.

To demonstrate the hotels 4 star rating, the website features flash based slideshows and video based virtual tours to try and give a real life representation of what a holiday would be like at this stunning location.

The website is laid out with a clear navigation that details information on the hotel, local area, tarrifs and customer reviews. It also contains a contact form and links directly into the Google Mapping API - This simply means we are able to utilise the power of Google mapping on the hotels web site without directing visitors away to other 3rd party mapping websites.

From an administration point of view, the website is fully content managable using our own in-house CMS software and is linked with web tracking analytical software that records and displays statisical data on the overall websites usage.

Nationwide Skips new website is launched!

Eyespider have designed and developed a new website and secure online login facilities for Nationwide Skips Ltd. The website gives visitors information on the waste management services offered by Nationwide Skips and allows customers to securely sign in so they may view and manage orders.

From a design and marketing perspective, we worked closely with Nationwide Skips to redevelop their commercial brand and overall marketing strategy; aiding in the provision of a new logo (now in use throughout the company) through to providing a new structured website and marketing copy.

The website now has a modern clean design and contains lots of useful relevant information. It is easy to navigate through a consistent navigation system and also boasts its own internal search engine. Facilities exist for displaying any latest news and special offers as well as mechanisms for ordering skip hire services.

Nationwide Skips were consulted throughout each stage of the design and build process ensuring that the final product would meet the clients expectations.

Sean Merrett, Managing director for Nationwide Skips Ltd was exceptionally pleased with the final solution and commended Eyespider for all of the hard work and dedication that had gone into the project.

Under the hood...

As well as the public website, Eyespider also developed several back office tools allowing Nationwide skips staff to content manage the website and also provide administrative functions to the thousands of online user accounts. There are also further tools for managing e-mail marketing campaigns as well as a suite of reports for providing website usage statistics.

From a technical point of view the website is built upon the Microsoft .net platform utilising Microsoft SQL server as its data repository. It regularly exchanges data with Nationwide Skips internal systems so that data reflected within both systems is synchronised. The website takes advantage of AJAX programming techniques and also incorporates Business Objects Crystal Reports for report generation. This gives the ability for visitors to the site to easily download and export reports in a variety of formats including Adobe PDF.
